Dr. Evelyn Ijeoma Orji(Institute of Education,University of Calabar,Nigeria)

IVCCES 2023 was a huge success having to see top profile individuals come to dish out their wealth of knowledge on how to curb the issues regarding our environment due to climate changes. With all the speakers have communicated, I believe we can build a formidable team to have a healthy and a safe environment.Among many speakers who made their presentations, I would just want to relate some facts from few of the speakers:

Prof. Saeid Eslamian and Dr. Mousa Maleki from the Department of Water Engineering, Isfahan, University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran.He related that to a large extent the causes and  effects of climate change. The primary reason for climate change is as a result of human activities in burning fossil fuels.This cause of climate change includes rapid industrialization, energy use, agricultural practices, deforestation, pollution etc. The causes above can also bring about the following effects; rising temperatures, rising sea levels, unpredictable weather patterns, land degradation etc.As a Prof. in water engineering, he also spoke extensively on socio – hydrology management goals, which includes

1. Sustainable water resources and management

2. Balancing human and ecosystem needs

3. Mitigating climate change impacts.

And finally encouraged the populace to build resilience to climatic changes in their environment.

Dr. Evelyn Orji from Institute of Education, University of Calabar Nigeria, who spoke on Enhancing climate change residence through green entrepreneurship education.She defined resilience as the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or changes. She further implore the universities to educate her students:

1. To bring all round improvement in the working atmosphere and create an environment free of pollution.

2. To reduce negative impact of green house has emissions caused by offices on the environment by using office resources efficiently and adopting renewable energy technologies

3. To motivate and inspire employees to practice environmental good habits.

It was also a great pleasure to meet Dr. Toyin Funmilayo Adeniyi, Faculty of environmental science Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.She spoke on green technology strategies to eradicate air pollution as a sustainable approach for cleaner air. She encouraged that the following should be adopted to help in reducing air pollution (a cause for climate change) and in turn climate Change;

6. Public awareness campaign.

She also enumerated the benefits of green technology strategies, which includes:

3. Job creation

4. Economic growth.

She further advised and encouraged businesses to adopt green practices and invest in eco-friendly technologies, financial institutions and investors to fund green technology projects. Also appealing to the technology companies to invest and develop solutions for cleaner air.

It was also a privilege to have Mr. Isanka Gamage from The International Institute Of Knowledge  Management (TIIKM) Sri Lanka. Mr. Isanka lifted our inquisitiveness for the 8th International conference on climate change(ICCC) 2024 with theme ” Effective and Innovative Solutions For Achieving Net Zero”. He expressed their intention to have a network of like-minded individuals who will make their valuable contributions to profer solutions to global climatic changes.With excitement towards this program, he gave a 15% discount for participants of IVCEES 2023 interested in either physical or virtual participation at ICCC 2024.

Indeed it was a great time of mental investment at the International Virtual Climate Change Education Summit 2023. And I want to say Kudos to Amb.
